BARNSTORMERS SIGN P BYRON BATSON

The Barnstormers have signed pitcher Byron Batson. The 6-5, 200-pound righthander joins his fourth team this season. He most recently played for Southern Maryland. Batson is 2-4 with a 7.53 ERA in 16 appearances in the Atlantic League in 2009. When he takes the mound for the Barnstormers, he will have played for every existing Atlantic League team plus the now-defunct Road Warriors.

Batson is a 10-year veteran and has spent all but one season in independent ball. He was drafted in the 42nd round by the Milwaukee Brewers in 2000 and played in their system for one season. He has a lifetime 47-43 record and 4.55 ERA in 215 games.
